CityPlace, now known as Rosemary Square, is the 72-acre open-air development that transformed downtown West Palm Beach when it opened in 2000. Centered around Rosemary Avenue and bordered by Okeechobee and Hibiscus, the district pulled hospitality, retail and residential together in one place at a scale no other South Florida downtown had tried.
Today it's a mix of national brands, independent operators, chef-driven restaurants, apartments and offices, all stitched together with wide pedestrian streets, public art, and the central plaza where the city gathers for movie nights, holiday markets, outdoor concerts and seasonal programming. Weekend afternoons and evenings bring couples strolling after dinner, families posting at the fountain, and the kind of easy outdoor energy that reminds you what South Florida weather is actually for.
If you want a dinner-and-shopping block that is reliable, polished and lively on a Saturday evening without being overwhelming, CityPlace is where you start. It's downtown WPB at its most hospitable: enough variety that everyone finds something, and enough design intention that it still feels like a place, not a mall.
