The quick answer
Hey, neighbor. Planning a date night in downtown West Palm Beach is easier when you start with the kind of evening you want, so here are three ready-made nights. Pick one, then book the dinner first.
- Casual: dinner at Hullabaloo, then a glass of wine at The Blind Monk. Easy, walkable and relaxed.
- Classic: French bistro dinner at Pistache on the waterfront, then a cocktail at The Lab, the speakeasy above Sourbon.
- Big night: a rooftop dinner with an Intracoastal view at Spruzzo, then dancing or live music at Respectable Street.
Beyond Clematis Street, we added picks in CityPlace, the NORA district and Northwood Village, so you can build a date night in any corner of downtown. Reservations matter from November through April, when the season fills tables, so book ahead for the dinner. Last checked October 19, 2026.
Casual: dinner and a wine loft
Dinner: Hullabaloo (517 Clematis St.). A local guide calls it “great for date night,” and it generally takes walk-ins, which keeps the evening low pressure. The back patio has a vintage Airstream, and the food is Italian-inspired.
Next: The Blind Monk (655 S. Olive Ave.). A two-story wine loft with a floor-to-ceiling wine cellar, known for a Burgundy-heavy list. It is listed Monday through Saturday, with a happy hour from 5 to 6 p.m. Walk-in seating varies, so go early.
If your night lands on a Thursday between October 22 and December 31, 2026, add Clematis by Night, the free concert on the Great Lawn, before or after dinner.
Classic: French bistro and a speakeasy
Dinner: Pistache French Bistro (101 N. Clematis St., Suite 115). French bistro polish at the waterfront end of Clematis Street. Local guides recommend booking ahead in season. A patio overlooks the park, and the bar has a happy hour daily from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. if you want to start early.
Or: Elisabetta’s Ristorante (185 Banyan Blvd.). A water-facing patio and a full Italian dinner menu, with wood-fired pizza and housemade pasta. It is also called out as a date night pick. Book ahead in season.
Next: The Lab, above Sourbon Kitchen (215 Clematis St.). A speakeasy upstairs from Sourbon that serves handcrafted cocktails. Plan on a weeknight or early evening to get a seat, and check with Sourbon on hours before you go.
Big night: a rooftop view and a late club
Dinner: Spruzzo (251 N. Narcissus Ave., at The Ben). A rooftop restaurant and bar with Mediterranean food, great cocktails and views of the Intracoastal Waterway. It is listed with a live DJ on Saturdays and Sundays.
Or: Treehouse (380 Trinity Pl., 13th floor of the Canopy). A rooftop restaurant with a Latin-inspired menu, sunset views, couches under palm trees and a weekly live music calendar. Its listed hours run to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Then: Respectable Street (518 Clematis St.). The long-running club and live-music room, listed Wednesday through Saturday from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Check the night’s lineup and ticketing first. For a rooftop with music on the way, Sky 309 at 309 Clematis St. lists live music and guest DJs on Friday and Saturday nights.

The walk: Clematis Street toward the water
The easiest date night walk starts on Clematis Street and heads east toward the Intracoastal, where the street meets the waterfront at the Great Lawn (100 N. Clematis St.). Have dinner on or near Clematis, then stroll to the water for the view, and finish with a drink at E.R. Bradley’s (104 S. Clematis St.), which sits on the waterfront with live music nightly.
On Thursdays from October 22 through December 31, 2026, the free Clematis by Night concert makes the Great Lawn the natural last stop.
