Clematis StreetAbout
Respectable Street is Clematis Street’s alternative music institution, open since 1987. It’s the original SubCulture venue, set in a building that began life as a Salvation Army around 1923. The room has hosted well over a thousand live acts, from touring punk and new wave legends to local bands who went on to national attention. Come for live shows, DJ nights, and themed dance parties built on indie rock, new wave, and classic alternative sounds. It’s loud, late, and unapologetically local, and it anchors the 500 block along with Hullabaloo and Lost Weekend.
