Where to Park in Downtown West Palm Beach: Garages, Meters, and Weekend Rates

Where to Park in Downtown West Palm Beach: Garages, Meters, and Weekend Rates

Hey, neighbor. If you are headed to Clematis Street, the city’s five downtown garages charge $1 for the first two hours, then $2 for each additional half hour, up to $20 a day. On weekends and holidays the garages are a $5 flat rate, except during special events.

The five city garages

All five garages share one rate card, so the choice comes down to which one is closest to where you are headed and whether your vehicle fits. Check the height limit first if you drive a van, truck, or SUV with a roof rack.

The city counts more than 3,600 parking spaces downtown. Resident monthly rates require proof of residency.

Street meters

Street meters are priced by zone, and the closer you are to the busiest blocks, the higher the rate and the shorter the limit. The city shows the zones on an interactive map, so check it before you pick a spot.

ZoneMeter colorRate per hourTime limit
Zone ABlue$2.502 hours
Zone BRed$1.504 hours
Zone COrange$1.006 hours

You can pay at the meter with a credit card or coins (quarters and one-dollar coins only), or through the ParkMobile app or phone line at 1-877-727-5714. ParkMobile texts you 15 minutes before your session ends, which helps if dinner runs long.

The city’s rate page does not list the days and hours meters are enforced, so read the posted signs at your spot, or call the city parking hotline at (561) 822-2222.

Weekends, holidays, and event days

Weekends and holidays are the easy days: the garages are $5 for the whole day, and the city’s surface lots are $5 a day as well. The exception is special events, when garage rates can climb as high as $100, so it is worth checking what is on before you head in.

GreenMarket Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., have their own garage rates, posted at each garage. The city’s published GreenMarket rates covered October 4, 2025 through May 30, 2026, so confirm the rate at the garage for the current season.

Garages take cash and credit cards at the payment kiosk.

Parking for your plans

  • Dinner on Clematis Street: Sapodilla Garage is on the street itself at 645 Clematis St, and Clematis Garage, City Center Garage, and Banyan & Olive Garage line up along Banyan Blvd. Pick the one nearest your reservation and mind the height limits in the table above.
  • A GreenMarket Saturday: Expect special garage rates from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and check the posted price before you pull in.
  • A Brightline trip: The station has its own gateless garage, open 24 hours, and you can pay by QR code on the garage signs or add parking when you book. The rate is set by Brightline, not the city.
  • Skipping the car: The city also runs a free downtown ride service called RideWPB, which connects the Tri-Rail station at 203 South Tamarind Ave to downtown.
